E-RYT 500 Alyson Franca Pollard is owner of WheelHouse Yoga in Clifton, Virginia. With a mindful approach to building her practitioners confidence and ability in their yoga practice, she ensures that one feels accomplished where they currently are in their practice, while safely building to and sprinkling in glimpses of what the next level holds. The union of breath and movement, and mind and body are the foundation of her classes, while enhancing her teachings with a subtle spiritual influence. Alyson is committed to furthering her studies and practice to better enhance the experience of her students, ever evolving. Compassion and service to others, mixed with a little fun and not taking herself too seriously are the foundation from which Alyson's teachings are formed. Alyson joyfully studied with Fluid Yoga school, and continues to work closely with the school through retreats, trainings and workshops. Outside of her love of teaching yoga, she is mother to 3 wonderful children, and as a family they enjoy time outside and sports throughout the year. It's a toss up between mountains and beach, but toes in the sand with a book in hand is Alyson's favorite place! You can experience her teachings at WheelHouse Yoga, special events and retreats. |

Tamara Crean |
|
Tamara brings the balance of yoga, spirituality and Pilates into her teachings and her life off the mat. Born with a congenital leg length discrepancy, as an avid runner and athlete, Tamara began experiencing pain with movement in her twenties. Living in San Diego at the time, her Ortho suggested pilates to help manage her pain. Within weeks of her first pilates class she was beginning to experience life pain free. It was the opportunity to live without pain that convinced Tamara to quit her job and become a pilates instructor with the goal of helping others do the same. Taking root in the Clifton community, Tamara became owner of WheelHouse Pilates. As a part of the WheelHouse family, the opportunity to deepen her yoga practice, in addition to Pilates, took on a life of its own. Committing to the Fluid Yoga 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, and further spiritual studies with Triyana Studies, she has dedicated her life to further help others by truly teaching the mind body connection. Tamara believes when yoga and community come together magic is created… an understanding that we are connected and a part of everything in the universe. Her passion is working with people who are trying to heal their bodies. She loves to laugh and when she isn't at the studio, you might find her eating breakfast for dinner, having dance parties with her kids or traveling the world! |
